Toulouse city guide: Our hidden gems for a stylish getaway in the Pink City

Toulouse city guide : Nos adresses pépites pour une virée chic dans la Ville Rose

Exactly one year ago, I settled in Toulouse. I didn't know yet that I was going to fall head over heels for this city, which is both vibrant and so gentle. Today, after twelve months of exploring its pink brick alleys, getting to know its Garonne riverbanks, and unearthing its secrets, I wanted to share my address book with you.

This isn't a tourist's guide, nor is it from a regular who no longer sees the beauty of their city. It's the perspective of a "discoverer": someone who is finding her feet, who is still amazed by the light on the facades, and who has selected places where you immediately feel "at home". Welcome to my Toulouse, the one that inspires the creations of Maison Gisel B every day.

Toulouse City guide

1. My morning ritual: Coffee as a new beginning

When you arrive in a city, you look for "your" neighborhood. For me, it was love at first sight on the quays.

  • Le Café Cerise: This is where I come to slow down. Facing the Pont-Neuf, this roastery has become my refuge. Their high standards for coffee sourcing resonate with my way of selecting my cultured pearls: with patience and passion. It's a comfortable place, whether to work on a new collection or simply watch the Garonne flow.

  • Peanut Coffee Shop: Nestled on Rue du Canard, this place is my minimalist refuge for specialty coffee. I love their attention to detail and their refined aesthetic, which resonates so much with the world of my jewelry.

  • A delicious cookie from Boulangerie Péché Mignon: On Rue de la Colombette, this is my essential stop for their irresistible cookies. An artisanal and generous address that for me embodies the daily sweetness of life in Toulouse.

2. Strolling and Craftsmanship: Taming beauty

My best discovery of the year? The richness of local artisans. Toulouse doesn't reveal itself immediately; you have to dare to push open the doors of its historic neighborhoods.

  • The Saint-Etienne district: This is my favorite playground. Between antique dealers and designer boutiques, it's a concentration of elegance. I like the idea that my jewelry shares the same DNA as these ceramic decorative objects or sourced textiles found here: a discreet, handmade luxury that stands the test of time.

  • Visual inspiration: A visit to the Bemberg Foundation. The reflections in the paintings often remind me of the East and the pearly nuances of the baroque pearls I assemble in my workshop.

  • My encounter with Maison Alchimie: A new setting on Place Saint-Georges. One year after my arrival, my best discovery remains this community of passionate artisans. From April 1, 2026, I am very happy to announce that Maison Gisel B will be settling in at Maison Alchimie. This showroom dedicated to weddings and lifestyle is a timeless place where providers come together to create a magical experience. Come discover our collections, try on your favorite pieces, and most importantly, let's meet! I would be delighted to advise you personally during my regular office hours there.

3. For the taste buds: The truth of the product

In one year, I've learned that Toulouse is a city of food lovers, but above all, enthusiasts of raw produce.

  • My favorite table: Whether it's a small bistro in Les Carmes or a more intimate restaurant like Le Sept, I always look for the same thing: simplicity. A seasonal ingredient, a mastered technique, without artifice. It's this same philosophy that I apply to recycled gold and noble materials: not to distort, but to sublimate.

  • My favorite restaurant: Hortus Near Saint-Cyprien, Hortus sublimates local products with a rare finesse. It's my chic canteen for plant-based and creative cuisine, served in a bright setting that inspires me with its purity and authenticity.
  • My canteen in Les Minimes: Café Ginette For a sunny lunch or a drink on the terrace, Café Ginette is my favorite stop. I love its neighborhood spirit, its generous market cuisine, and that gentle Toulouse way of life that reminds me why I chose to settle here.

4. The Workshop: Where everything comes together

If Toulouse has become my city of heart, it has also become the driving force behind Gisel B. It's here, in my workshop, that I transform my urban discoveries into jewelry. Every street, every encounter of this first year has infused the collections.

Choosing a Gisel B piece means taking with you a little of this gentle Toulouse way of life that I've learned to love this year.
