Knitwear & Jewelry
A soft sweater, a generous knit, a cardigan you return to with pleasure: autumn clothes invite you to compose comfortable silhouettes. Jewelry adds light, a pop of color, or a detail that changes the entire look.
Which necklace should you choose for a crew neck? What earrings to wear with a turtleneck? At LA MAISON GISEL B., we love pairing cultured pearls and golden touches with the textures of the season. Here are a few ideas to help you find your balance.
With a crew neck sweater: choosing a well-defined line
A crew neck allows for several possibilities. If it reveals the base of the neck, a short necklace can rest on the skin, just above the knit. If the neckline is higher, a slightly longer necklace ensures the jewelry remains visible against the garment.
The key is to avoid having the necklace disappear halfway under the neckline. Try two lengths in front of a mirror: sometimes a few centimeters are all it takes to make the ensemble more harmonious.
On a solid-colored knit, cultured pearls create a delicate contrast. On a cable-knit sweater, a simpler line lets the textures breathe.

A turtleneck already frames the neck. For a streamlined silhouette, you can leave that space open and draw the gaze toward the face with earrings.
Studs add a subtle sparkle; hoops or drop earrings provide more presence. With a bulky collar, just ensure the earrings don't rub against or snag on the knit.
Our favorite pairing: a beige or gray turtleneck, hair tucked behind the ears, and a pair of pearlescent earrings.

With a V-neck: complementing the neckline
The V-neck opens up the silhouette and provides a beautiful space for necklaces. A fine piece of jewelry worn on the skin highlights this opening without filling it completely.
For layering, choose two distinct lengths so that each necklace remains distinct. A short necklace and a second, longer one can suffice: there's no need to multiply pieces to create depth.
With a partially unbuttoned cardigan, the same idea works very well. A delicate necklace accompanies a tank top just as well as a shirt worn under a knit.
The October Edition
Jeanne: a touch of color in autumn tones
Autumn doesn't mean giving up color. Against an ecru, chocolate, gray, or navy blue outfit, a colorful piece of jewelry can become the detail around which everything is organized.
Our October edition, Jeanne, combines baroque cultured pearls with four colors: red, navy blue, green, and powder pink. The necklace, bracelet, and studs are handmade in our Toulouse studio in small quantities: seven pieces per color for each model at launch.
Choose the necklace for an open neckline, or the studs when your sweater covers your neck. A single piece is enough to bring color into your look.

A luminous combination, to be completed with discreet earrings.
Gray turtleneck & pearlescent earrings
The jewelry frames the face while the knit maintains all its simplicity.
Chocolate cardigan & a touch of red
A warm contrast, try it with the red Jeanne necklace if the neckline allows.
Caring for your jewelry
Put on your sweater before your jewelry and take them off before changing: this will limit snags and pulls.
For cultured pearls, avoid direct contact with perfume and cosmetics. After wearing them, wipe them gently with a clean, soft cloth. The Gemological Institute of America details these precautions in their pearl care guide.
